Ingredients
7 oz (200 g) tempeh
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
3 tbsp tamari or soy sauce
3 tbsp maple syrup
¼ tsp salt
1 ½ tsp liquid smoke
1 ½ tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp ground black pepper

Instructions
- Slice tempeh into 18 thin strips.
- In shallow bowl, mix oil, tamari, maple syrup, salt, liquid smoke, smoked paprika, and black pepper. Add tempeh and mix to coat. Set aside to marinate for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line baking tray with parchment paper. Place marinated tempeh on lined tray, arranged in single layer. Reserve remaining marinade for later.
- Place tray in oven and bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Flip tempeh over, brush with remaining marinade, and bake for another 6 to 8 minutes, or until browned and slightly crispy.
