Indian Spiced Beef Keema

Ingredients
½ yellow onion, roughly chopped
0.4 oz (10 g) root ginger
2 cloves garlic
8.8 oz (250 g) 5% fat lean ground beef
1 small carrot, diced
0.3 oz (7 g) tomato paste
1 tbsp curry powder
3.5 oz (100 g) frozen green peas
58.8 oz (250 g) cooked basmati rice
0.4 oz (10 g) fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions
- Blend onion, ginger, and garlic in a food processor until smooth.
- Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in pot, add beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 5 minutes until browned. Remove from pot and set aside.
- Add another 1 tablespoon oil to pot and sauté onion puree for 5 minutes. Add carrot, tomato paste, and curry powder, cooking for 1 minute.
- Return beef to pot, add 8.5 fl oz (250 ml) water, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes. Stir in peas and cook for 2 minutes.
- Serve beef with rice and garnish with cilantro.
