Ingredients

2 x 5 oz (145 g) canned tuna in brine, drained
2 stalks celery, diced
4 green onions (spring onions), diced
1 jalapeño pepper, seeded, diced
¾ cup (170 g) mayonnaise
1 lime, zested, juiced
1 tbsp habanero hot sauce
½ cup (8 g) fresh cilantro (coriander), chopped
salt and pepper, to taste
4 burger buns
4 cheese slices
4 dill pickles (pickled gherkins), sliced
1 tomato, sliced
2 avocados, mashed

Instructions

  • Place drained tuna in bowl. Add diced celery, green onions, and jalapeño pepper. Toss to combine.
  • Stir in mayonnaise, lime zest, lime juice, hot sauce, and cilantro. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  • Toast burger buns in toaster or hot dry skillet.
  • To assemble sandwich, place cheese on bottom bun, followed by tuna filling, pickles, and sliced tomato.
  • To top sandwich, spread mashed avocado on top bun. Serve.
